201 Orientation Tool
The 201 Orientation Tool is designed to measure the orientation angles:
- AZIMUTH (Heading)
- INCLINATION (Pitch)
- RELATIVE BEARING (Roll)
in borehole logging and directional drilling applications.
201 determines the inclination and Relative bearing angles by using a 3-axis accelerometer to measure the direction of earth's gravity. The azimuth angle is determined by measuring the earth's magnetic field using a 3-axis magnetometer. The 201 can operate in either a command (polled) mode when used in string tools, or an autosend (continuos) mode when data is automatically sent repeatedly after power-up.
